An opening date has been set for the latest restaurant venture in a prime Suwanee (Ga.) location.

Suwanee Park Tavern will open to the public on Feb. 6, 2015, according to a notice posted on the entrance to the site in Town Center Park.

The locally based ownership group was granted an alcoholic beverage license by the city in November 2014. The owners said then that their plans were for an upscale-type dining operation along the lines of Houston’s.

The site, which has a distinctive open-air bar area that overlooks Town Center Park, was vacant all of 2014. The Uptown Grille closed in late 2013 after less than a year in operation. And Olde Towne Tavern & Grille closed in December 2012, in a bankruptcy proceeding.

Suwanee Park Tavern owners had begun significant interior renovations before they were granted the alcoholic beverage license.
