A prominent but troubled Suwanee (Ga.) restaurant location apparently is about to get a new tenant.
According to Suwanee city documents, the proposed owner of Hurricane Grill & Wings has applied for an alcoholic beverage license for the spot that was vacated by the Uptown Grille last December. And the same site was vacated by Olde Towne Tavern & Grille in December 2012.
The proposed license is scheduled to be discussed by the Suwanee City Council at a workshop on Sept. 11. No official action will be taken then, but if no opposition surfaces, the license would be up for council approval on Sept. 23.
The Uptown Grille opened in April 2013, promising an upscale menu. Olde Towne was shuttered amid bankruptcy proceedings shortly before Christmas 2012.
More details about the planned new restaurant at the site (340 Town Center Ave., Suite A-8) are not known at this time.
