More Atlanta snow 2010

The 2009-10 winter weather in Atlanta, like many other parts of the country, has been memorable mostly for negative reasons. But at least a snowfall has some picturesque qualities. Atlanta got its second snowfall of 2010 on Feb. 12, and the snow and ice carried over into Saturday.

Many schools and businesses closed, and travel was treacherous in many areas. But it also produced some memorable pictures and videos. Gotta move fast. As I write this at about 12:30 PM Eastern time on Saturday, much snow has fallen off trees and roadway ice is melting fast.

So call this imageblogging. As Rod Stewart might say, every YouTube tells a story, don’t it?

(Updated 2/15/2010: The Atlanta blog My Urban Report by @urbanreporter summarizes citizen journalist efforts in ATL during the snow.

The (completed) snowman cometh.
